- The Wildfire Edge is a technical approach shoe that can be thought of as either a hiking shoe or a climbing shoe. The Salewa Switchfit system is so simple, it was developed in collaboration with mountain guides and the best climbers in the Dolomites: just pull the laces together on the back and up. This pulls your foot forward and your toes are pressed together like a climbing shoe.
- After climbing, you can loosen the laces at the back eyelet, allowing the front to widen and provide more comfort while hiking. To improve the precision of climbing, the Wildfire Edge also features an Edging Plate, an insert under the forefoot that provides extra stiffness under the toes.
- The Pomoca Speed MTN sole works thanks to the Pomoca butyl compound, which has better grip and greater friction in dry and wet weather. The sole has a precise climbing zone in the toe area, good edge properties and aggressive studs for better grip on muddy and soft surfaces.
- For better torsional strength, the outer material is made of Exa Shell which, in conjunction with the 3-F system, hugs the foot and provides flexibility, fit and support. Climbing shoe lacing system reaches to the toe for a more precise fit and more customization options.
